The world today is moving towards sustainable packaging and at the same time has realized how the outer packaging can appeal to the consumers. Especially when the consumers are kids, packaging should be friendly as well as match their interests.

Fun Filled Packaging

Spectra Packaging Ltd. has designed the Pulito series of packaging, which is colorful and catchy for the kids. The packaging is curvy rather than the traditional edgy design, which is quite handy for the children.

Either PET or HDPE can be used to create this type of packaging. Spectra also uses custom molding technique in this packaging so that the clients can pack their products imaginatively to suit their target consumers.

Leaves of the toys derived from plants

LEGO, the toy’s manufacturer, is now using plant-based plastic sourced from sugarcane for its botanical elements like trees, bushes, and leaves.

Although the end product is still plastic, it is made from a renewable source. The plastics derived from sugarcane is flexible, durable, and identical to the conventional plastic. Also, the sugarcane used in the process is sourced sustainably according to the Bioplastic Feedstock Alliance (BFA) guidelines.

Stylish Kids Yogurt

Chobani LLC has introduced form-fill-seal packaging technology for its ‘Tots Greek Yogurt’ product range. The packaging is BPA [bisphenol-A] free and is not harmful if the kids munch or lick the packaging unintentionally.

The form-fill-seal technology ensures freshness of the yogurt for at least two weeks in normal storage and more when stored in deep-refrigeration. Plus, the outer packaging has colorful graffiti for the child to notice.

The Cereal-Superhero Packaging

This packaging is designed by Noora Kumpulainen and Meri Miinalainen as part of their thesis and was shortlisted in ‘Recreate Packaging’ contest organized by STORAENSO.

It is a wearable packaging and uses Clarifoil for eye-window. After the kid finishes the cereal, he can use this packaging as a mask.

The presenters chose Clarifoil since it is made from PEFC (The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified wood pulp and is biodegradable.

Beverage Packaging For Children

Small and Wild Ltd. has got its kids herbal tea packaging designed by Kingdom and Sparrow Ltd. The packaging design includes animal illustrations to reinforce the organic feel conveying the ingredients of the tea.

The creative team has tried to bond with children through storytelling and has demonstrated the importance of staying hydrated. The packaging also ensures the packaging print is harmless for children.
