Printing on Brown Kraft Paperboard
There are a couple things to consider when Printing on the Brown Kraft Paperboard.
Kraft boxes are an exciting product we are proud to offer – but there are some details that should be considered when designing for this product.
Color:
The paper stock will affect the way that colors appear, and some lighter coors may not be very visible when printed on the Kraft paper. Medium to heavy ink shades tend to appear darker when printed over the Kraft paper. This is something tha you will need to take into account when designging your box.
We do offer the ability to print a white background behind some colors, to create a truer and more full color. There is an additional cost to add this feature, but from the photos, you will be able to see that it might be the direction you want to go.
Texture & Fine Details:
Due to the fact that the Kraft paperboard is 100% post consumer recycled material, the base brown color can shift throughout the same run. Also, imperfections will be visible and can effect the final print These are things that are out of our control and are part of the use of the Kraft paperboard.
Kraft paper as a natural texture – it is an uncoated card stock. Due to the texture, it cannont hold fine detail as well as a coated stock.
The finest detail we recommend is 1pt line-weight.
